Deck Parties, Music, BBQ’s and Magnificent Wildflowers Await You and Yours This Memorial Weekend
Ahhh, summer is almost here which means the world will stop on Memorial Weekend on Tahoe’s West shore, and throughout the High Sierra to celebrate the start of summer … and salute our Veterans as well.
If you have never experienced the fanfare, come up for the fun, fresh air, and all the festivities May 25 – 27, 2018.
To get you in the mood, we’ve selected our favorite events of the holiday weekend.
In between all the fun, please take the time to reflect on the purpose of the holiday as we share our appreciation for those who gave their lives and continue to give their all today.
‘OPENING DAY AT THE LAKE’ FESTIVITIES
Before things get too busy for all of us, the Elder Team enjoys every opportunity to get out in our community to celebrate Memorial Weekend. And we hope you do too. Highlights of the events to come are listed below. And if you would like more ideas where to go and what to do this holiday weekend, or anytime throughout the year, please reach out to the Elder Group Tahoe Real Estate Team. We are long-time locals who love to share all that we love about our mountain town community.
Be sure to pick up an ‘Opening Day Passport’ at participating events. When your passport is completed, you could win some great prizes donated by local establishments. Stop in at the Tahoe City Visitor Information Center next to Fanny Bridge at the Wye in Tahoe City, CA. Or, call for more details: 530-581-6900.

Historical Tahoe Tours (all summer long)
Ehrman Mansion ~ If you have never sauntered through the pristine park at Sugar Pine Point Park and taken a tour through this historic and well-preserved mansion, make time to do so now, or in the near future. We love to bring a picnic and take in all of its beauty under the pines and overlooking the lake.
Vikingsholm in Emerald Bay ~ Emerald Bay provided the setting for one of the first summer homes at Lake Tahoe and one of the most visited tourist attractions in the High Sierra. Known as “Tahoe’s Hidden Castle,” the property and its grounds make for a full day with educational tours and a beach on which to place your toes and soak up the Sierra sun!
THE WILDFLOWERS ARE CALLING, AND YOU MUST GO.
After you get through celebrating all-about-the Lake, be sure you plan on some quality time with your camera in tow to take in the best of Mother Nature.
